What businesses ask before implementing RFID

The answers below are general guidance. The final configuration must be confirmed through an assessment or on-site pilot.

How is RFID different from barcodes?

Barcodes generally require line of sight and one-by-one scanning. RFID uses radio waves and can read multiple tags within a scan zone without aligning each code to the device. Actual performance depends on the tag, reader and environment.

Can RFID read multiple products at once?

Yes. This is a key RFID advantage. However, tag count and stability depend on power, antennas, distance, tag orientation, item density and surrounding materials.

Can RFID be used with metal or liquids?

Yes, but suitable tags and attachment positions are usually required. Metal and liquids can affect RFID waves, so Cube recommends validating them in a pilot before selecting the deployment configuration.

Can it integrate with an existing ERP or WMS?

Integration can be designed through APIs, data-exchange files or another suitable connection method. The specific scope depends on the existing system, data to synchronize and technical access.

Must the business change its entire warehouse process?

Not necessarily. Cube assesses the existing process, identifies where RFID capture is needed and proposes an appropriate level of change. The goal is to reduce manual work while preserving practical operations.

Can the system be deployed in the cloud or on premises?

The architecture can be proposed according to security, infrastructure and IT-policy requirements. The final approach should be evaluated by both technical teams.

What does the pilot test evaluate?

A pilot typically evaluates tag type, attachment position, read rate, handheld stocktaking, alert logic and how well the software fits the sample process.

Does Cube provide post-implementation support?
